Performing a traceroute
Sometimes when trying to troubleshoot a problem, we may ask you to perform a 'traceroute' in order to show the exact path that your connection is taking to our server.
It's essential the traceroute is made from your own computer and not a website elsewhere on the internet. Here's how to do it ...
1 - open up the MS-DOS prompt on your computer, to do so: click 'start', then 'run', then enter 'cmd' in the text box, then click 'ok' to submit
2 - when the new (black) window opens, type in the following command:
Note: replace 'change-domain.com' with your own domain name or IP address.
3 - when the resulting output has finished, copy and paste the information into a support ticket and send it to us for analysis.
