Blackberry and PDA setup
This article covers connecting to a pop3 mailbox from your Blackberry device but it can also be applied to other PDAs and mobile communication hardware.
Receiving email to a Blackberry device is the same as receiving email to an application on your computer (MS Outlook, Eudora, etc) ...
- create a new email account within your Blackberry
- enter your pop3 and smtp settings
- enter your username and password
- turn on 'email authentication'
- check all is working
The pop3 and smtp settings can be found in your Welcome Mail, please let us know if you need a copy resent.
The username and password are the same ones used when you first setup the email account on the server.
If your connection fails, check to make sure you have the correct username and password. You can do this by using logging into your Webmail account.
Additionally, if you already have a pop3 email account from MS Outlook (or similar) and that is working okay then your Blackberry pop3 service should also be working fine.
If you are still having problems then double check your settings before going back to Blackberry to get support from them. You should ask them to check your Blackberry account is setup to send and receive email correctly.
