| Domain Transfer |
The following information will help you understand the process of transferring a domain name. It can be a little daunting at first so if you need help, please either call us on 0844-8849100 or raise a Support Ticket.

Insert the domain(s) above, select the extension(s) and submit the form. The transfer of UK domains is free so there will be no charge and your invoice will be zero-rated. Even though there is no charge, you still need to complete the transfer order process. Once the order has completed you will need to contact your existing registrar and ask them to action the following instruction ...
"For my domain (change-domain.co.uk) please change the IPS Tag to: POLDINGS"
How long it takes depends upon when your existing registrar actions the request. It should occur within 48 hours but if it takes longer then please chase your registrar to confirm the position. To check the progress, login to the Billing Centre and view the domain to see a status comment. Alternatively, use our WHOIS checker to see when the IPS Tag has been changed.

Pre-Order Checks
Make sure you have the EPP code from your existing registrar. This code is required to process the transfer. Contact your existing registrar if you do not have this code.
Make sure you have access to the email address listed as the 'admin contact email' for the domain. You can check this from our WHOIS tool now. If the email address needs to be changed, contact the existing registrar and have it changed before you instruct the domain transfer to Saffas.
Make sure your domain name has not expired and is not due to expire within the next 10 days. We need at least 10 days to complete the transfer process of these domain types.
Make sure the domain is not 'locked'. It needs to be made 'active' before we can instruct the transfer. You may need to contact your existing registrar and have them change the status from 'locked' to 'active'.
Place Order
Insert the domain(s) above, select the extension(s) and submit the form. There is a charge for transferring these domain types which is equivalent to one year of the normal registration fee. Complete the order in the normal way to progress with the transfer request.
Once the order has been submitted, 2 emails will be sent to the admin contact email address for the domain. The first email will arrive within 8 hours requesting confirmation to 'move in'. You will need to follow the instructions and confirm your agreement.
In due course you may also receive another email from your existing registrar requesting confirmation that you want to 'move out'. You will need to confirm your agreement if the transfer is to be successful.
When done, the transfer should complete within 4 to 6 days. To check the progress you can login to the Billing Centre and view the domain to see the latest status. Alternatively, use our WHOIS checker to see when the domain has been updated.
Exceptions
We cannot transfer domains that are less than 60 days old. Please wait until the domain is at least 60 days old before attempting to transfer.
Domain transfers add 1 year onto the domain expirey date so the charge for transfer is actually reimbursed by way of this additional time.
If the domain was reactivated from an expired state, you still pay the transfer fee but you will not get a year added to the expirey date.
